Taylor Made R580 XD Is A Must Have Driver
For over a year I have been trying to find the perfect driver. Now my search is over though since I found the R580XD. The drivers I used before these was the Ping G5,Titleist 905R, Taylormade R5 and the Ben Hogan Big Ben CS3.
All the drivers I tested were 9.5’s with stiff flex shafts. Ben Hogan CS3 has been my driver for the past 3 years. The problem I have with this driver is its flight path is higher with a shorter distance then I want but it is consistent.
That whole experience is in the past now since I bought the R580XD at Edwin Watts for 99 dollars and it was new. My previous driver I bought new was the R5 neutral bias. For the past few years I have not used a Taylormade but now I was happy to gain one in my bag!
Within 2 rounds of playing with the R580XD, my drives have increased by 20+ yards and my accuracy has not diminished either. With my previous driver the golf ball flew with a balloon effect but now it flies High/mid. Another thing I quite like this driver is the sound that is made when it hits the golf ball in the sweet spot.
Now I can spend my time playing golf instead of endlessly searching Ebay for drivers. Taylormade customer service is top notch. On two occasions I had an issue with my R5 “neutral” driver and they sent me brand new ones…unbelievable!
On the first issue, the “Neutral” decal fell off the driver. I happened to run across the Taylormade rep. at our local golf store. I showed him what happened and within a few days I had a new driver in my hands. On the second occasion a “glow ball” golf ball dented the face of the driver, those balls are as hard as a rock…FYI don’t used your good clubs to hit these balls!
